Artists’ Statement: I find processing the complex shapes and patterns in nature as well as in the man-made world a compelling hunt for balance. My attention is drawn to combinations of sensation and nature and the various tensions created by environment and psyche. Our ability to perceive concrete realities as well as symbolic abstractions is a unique talent of the human brain. In my artwork I'm trying to fit them together, in a way that will call on both types of thinking. Exploring this is an endless and confounding treasure. Biography: Corazon Higgins was born in Boston, Massachusetts and studied Interrelated Media at the Massachusetts College of Art. Her job as a teacher of English as a Second Language has allowed her to travel the world, and these places continue to inform her artwork.
